The ill-fated Relationship Between DG PTAD and the OSGF Pensioners

After a brief interaction with some of Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) staff and pensioners, we asked the most frequently asked question to civil servants and staff of OSGF, “How do they see and feel the administration of the current Director General (DG) of Pension, Mrs. Nellie Mayshak?

After interacting with Alhaji Tanko, we discovered that members and staff of OSGF have been working for 3years without them getting their arrears and full entitlements. During the lengthy interaction/interview, Alhaji Tanko said he is directly affected because he had been with OSGF for a very long time and he is particularly due for his entitlements and arrears. Alhaji said although, the DG released just nine (9) months of their three years arrears in November-December 2014. And since then nothing had been heard from the DG as regards the remaining balances. He said the Dg is purposely diverting funds meant for OSGF to cover all their arrears and entitlements for staff, and instead use the funds to bring in expatriates into the system to run the affairs of the office, and paying them higher within the region of seven hundred thousand (#700,000) naira and one million five hundred thousand naira (1,500,000), which is absurd if you ask me.

And when I asked Alhaji Abubakar of his observation concerning the issue, and he said; whatever may be her reason, He is still as dumbfounded as to why a human, being a woman and a mother, would still engage in the act of diverting public funds meant for a certain people who had worked tirelessly for OSGF for years. Knowing that these people have families to take care of and they also have bills to pay.

Another OSGF staff who pleaded to be anonymous, also said he is sure that the Federal Government had been releasing funds to the organization, and he said the Dg is just being mean either because, She has the wrong advisers around her or probably she doesn’t have the fear of God because, if only she posses the fear of God, she wouldn’t dare toil with public funds.

The members and staff of Office of the Secretary to the Government o the Federation OSGF are using this medium to let the public and good people of Nigeria know their pain and grief, and also call on the FG to review OSGF and help them act appropriately because they all seek a reform in OSGF, and settle every dispute in the organization.
