A murder suspect in the US has been able to walk free after giving authorities a false name.
Terrance Brown was arrested on an unrelated charge.
But instead of giving his real name, he identified himself as Alphonso Bray while being booked into Richmond County jail in Georgia.
After posting bail, Brown was fingerprinted and released.
According to local news reports, the scan identified him as the murder suspect, but the booking officers did not notice the discrepancy.
He was later identified by Bray's family when his photo appeared in a local newspaper.
Richmond County sheriff's Lt. Allan Rollins says an internal investigation is under way to work out how the mistake happened.
Police are now searching for Brown, who is wanted in a different county on a murder charge.
