A-Ibom Assures The Completion of Taxiway, MRO in 2016

Akwa Ibom State Government has assured that the state’s Airport taxiway will be completed and commissioned in July 2016, following the extent of work achieved so far.Emmanuel, who was accompanied by the Commissioner for Special Duties, Etido Inyang and his team, reiterated his determination to live up to his campaign promise to serve the people well and prayed for improved revenue to enable his government actualise its agenda for the stateThe state governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, during inspection of ongoing work at the Ibom International Airport, expressed satisfaction with the speed and quality of work by the contractor handling the project.
He said: “If you look at the extent of work done in less than five months, it shows sincerity of purpose and quality in service. This is close to being a miracle. This is how we want to tackle every project that we embark on; this is how we want to run throughout our tenure.”
“Unfortunately, this is the same runway that some people went and snap a picture in their village road and put in the papers and the internet and call that a runway just to run down a government that is doing so well. We told everybody that we are going to serve the people of Akwa Ibom State with our might, our heart and the passion.
“I commend Ghitto Construction Company that within this short period of time you can do a taxiway that can carry a Boeing 747 cargo. I should commission this taxiway by first week in July next year. I just hope the President will be freer that time to come and cut the tape for a second runway executed by a state government.”
