Ex-Priest Held Over Murder Of Teacher Since 1960

A former Catholic priest has been arrested in connection with the 1960 killing of a Texas schoolteacher.John Feit was taken into custody on Tuesday outside his apartment in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The 83-year-old faces a murder charge for the killing of 25-year-old Irene Garza, authorities said.
Prosecutors in Hidalgo County, Texas, say Feit was the last person to see Ms Garza alive after she attended confession on Easter Sunday, 1960.
The McAllen schoolteacher's body was found days later in an irrigation ditch about a mile from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where Feit served as a priest.
A post-mortem examination found that Ms Garza was raped and bludgeoned to death.
Feit, who left the priesthood in the 1970s, was questioned at the time of Ms Garza's death but was never charged.
He has denied any involvement in her killing.
Hidalgo County District Attorney Ricardo Rodriguez told the AP news agency that he presented the case against Feit to a grand jury last week.
It was not immediately clear what, if any, new information prompted Feit's arrest.
