A man has been jailed for four years after repeatedly driving his car into his girlfriend's ex-husband. Johnathan Leuty, 34, of South Brink, Cambridgeshire, told police he had gone to Wisbech to visit his girlfriend on 30 October last year but had found her ex-husband blocking the doorway and preventing him from going inside.
He said he had "snapped" after being provoked, driving towards the man and sending him rolling across the bonnet.
CCTV footage shows Leuty then turning his car around, driving over his victim and dragging him along the road under the car.
The 30-year-old was released only when Leuty stopped his car and reversed. He managed to hide between parked cars but Leuty followed, ramming into the cars in another attempt to hurt him.
When interviewed by police, Leuty said he expected the victim to move out of the way when he first drove towards him.
He said that he hadn't wanted to kill his victim, but had wanted to cause him some harm and knew by driving at someone it was likely to cause serious injury.
