Serbian authorities are investigating reports that a US-bound cargo package containing two laser-guided missiles was found on a passenger airline.N1 television said the two AGM-114 Hellfire missiles were discovered on Saturday by a sniffer dog after an Air Serbia flight from Beirut landed at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport.
Serbian state news agency Tanjug reported that the missiles, which cost around $110,000 each, had been packed inside wooden crates.
Documents with the package listed the final destination for the package as Portland, Oregon.
A source at the prosecutor's office in Serbia told Reuters the missiles had been due to be transferred to another plane.
