Edo Assembly in Rowdy Session, Adjourns Plenary

Crisis may be brewing in the Edo State House of Assembly as the House on Tuesday ended its plenary in a rowdy session.It was gathered that the lawmakers had assembled for the day’s business at about 10:10am and begun the roll call of members.
A few minutes into the plenary, some lawmakers began to raise their voices against the Speaker of the House, Mr. Victor Edoror.
A shouting match was also said to have ensued among the members, in spite of efforts by Edoror to calm the situation.
The member representing Owan West constituency, Mr. Ojo Asein, later moved a motion for the house to adjourn.Although, the lawmakers did not disclose the reason behind the sudden disagreement, it was, however, learnt that it may not unconnected with allegations of lack of operational logistics, including official cars, for the members of the House.
