Oscar-Winning Actress Patty Duke Dies Aged 69
Patty Duke, who won an Oscar as a teenager for her role in The Miracle Worker and became an activist for mental health causes, has died at the age of 69.The actress died in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho, on Tuesday morning from sepsis after suffering a ruptured intestine, according to her agent Mitchell Stubbs.
Duke won acclaim as the young deaf and blind Helen Keller in The Miracle Worker first on Broadway, then in the 1962 film for which she won the Academy Award.
