Atletico Madrid Skipper Gabi, Set to Extend Stay at Club

Atletico Madrid captain Gabi is set to sign a one-year contract extension, according to Spanish daily AS.The 32-year-old has been an integral part of Diego Simeone's side since rejoining them from Zaragoza in 2011 and he is set to be rewarded for his consistency with a new deal.
His current deal expires in 2017, but he is now set to stay on until 2018. According to AS, an announcement over his contract extension will be made in the coming days.
Simeone has also keen on keeping hold of striker Fernando Torres, whose loan deal from AC Milan expires in the summer.
