NLC Commends FG on Recruitment of 10,000 Police Personnel

Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), has commended the Federal Government for fulfilling its promise to recruit 10, 000 personnel in the next two months.
NLC president Ayuba Wabba made the commendation on Wednesday in Abuja while addressing newsmen. He said that President Muhammadu Buhari deserved commendation for keeping his promise to recruit 10,000 police personnel in response to security challenges in the country. He said: “It is gratifying to note that about six months after, the government has decided to make true its promise. “The recruitment of 10, 000 Nigerians into the police force, though will not solve the unemployment problem in the country, will almost certainly ease tension in the land. “We want to appeal to the police authorities and other Nigerians in position of authority to conduct this exercise with all sense of responsibility. “Every Nigerian that is eligible should get employed and the processes must be well thought out. “The process of the exercise must include care, transparency, justice, equity; the applicants should not be made to suffer discomfort or pain.’’ The NLC president noted that there was hardly any Nigerian family that does not have large number of applicants due to the growing army of the unemployed youths in the country.
