LeBron James Becomes Youngest Player to Reach 30,000 Points

LeBron James made NBA history on Tuesday, hitting the final shot of the first quarter to become the youngest player ever to reach the 30,000 career points milestone. The Cleveland Cavaliers superstar James, who turned 33 on December 30, surpassed Kobe Bryant as the youngest to hit the regular season mark. Bryant was 34 years and 104 days old when he reached it.
James delivered by nailing a step back jump shot against the San Antonio Spurs with 1.1 seconds remaining in the first for his eighth point of the contest and 30,001 overall.
“The moment was unbelievable,” said James. “The journey is something I have been on for quite awhile now and I would never take that for granted.”
James finished with 28 points on 10-of-23 shooting from the field in the Cavaliers’ 114-102 loss to San Antonio, boosting his total to 30,021.
