Three Killed as Plane Crashes Into House

Three people died when a light aircraft crashed into a Massachusetts home and burst into flames. The Beechcraft BE36 plane had taken off from Lancaster Airport in Pennsylvania and was flying to Norwood Memorial Airport when it crashed in Plainville at around 5.45pm on Sunday.

Residents in the home managed to flee the building but the impact triggered a fire which left it badly damaged.
Dave Procopio, a spokesman for Massachusetts State Police, said two adults and a juvenile in the plane were killed in the crash.
Neighbours described the aircraft making a sputtering sound shortly before it hit the house.
Mike Brown told The Sun Chronicle he saw the plane begin to bank and said the sound of the engine "did not sound normal".
An investigation by the Federal Aviation Authority and the National Transportation Safety Board has been launched.
The upper storey of the home was badly damaged by the impact and fire.
The identities of the deceased have not been released.
